Knowledge is power; getting to grips with the tribunal process
London, 16th November 2017 – Half day workshop
Julia Furley and Laura Pearce, two of JFH Law’s specialists in employment law, delivered the workshop Knowledge is power; getting to grips with the tribunal process, organised by the National Crime Officers Association (NCOA) This workshop took place on the 16th of November in London. The NCOA is a trade union for those who work at the NCA.
This talk was aimed at union representatives to provide them with an understanding of the tribunal process as follows:
Your members come to you for advice and support. If they are pursuing a tribunal claim they will look to you for re-assurance as to what the process will be.
In this session Julia and Laura guided you through the steps from issuing a claim to what happens at a tribunal hearing. They also explained the time limits and the ACAS process; you need to ensure you make the right calculation or your member may be prevented from pursuing a claim entirely. Finally, they put your new found knowledge into practice with some interaction scenarios, to help you get to grips with the tribunal process.
